Welcome to the Off Season

Blah. What a nasty taste.

Pens need a lot of work. A lot of people leaving.

I say trade Staal and Letang, free up $7.5 million or trade them outright for wingers for Malkin and Crosby. Trade Dupuis. I like him a lot but he doesn't bring something that they can use, especially when you need to re-sign Cooke. Plug Talbot in to Staal's spot. He'll be just as fine. Re-sign Eaton for two years, bring back Leopold for a year. Sign Volchenkov. Call up Lovejoy. Letestu proved worthy, plug him into the 4th line or 3rd line. Give Tangradi a shot with Malkin. Sign a dirty stay at home guy for the third line.

Kunitz-Crosby-(Trade)
(Trade)-Malkin-Tangradi
Cooke-Talbot-Kennedy
Rupp-Adams-Letestu

Bench: Goddard, (UFA or someone like Bayda)

Volchenkov-Orpik
Eaton-Leopold
(UFA)-Goligoski

Bench: Lovejoy

Fleury
Johnson

They also need a legit coaching staff. I really like Disco and the idea of Tony Granato. However, they need to get Yeo and Meloche out of there for actual position coaches. And another person for Disco to throw ideas off of.

Most of this wont happen. As it stands, Ray Shero has $13 million to work with in Cap room. Good luck Ray. This is why you're paid to do it and I'm not.

The Game Seven

The Game Seven.
For the NHL, the NBA, and Major League Baseball it is the Super Bowl. One game to decide it all. A one game series that decides everything, be it for one round or one year. Game Sevens happen most years in all sports. Some are made famous by the performances therein.
