Five legs and two arms. They determine the fate of the four teams in the AFC South. The run game of Maurice Jones-Drew will be depended on to carry the Jaguars to another dimension. Kris Brown was the difference between the Playoffs and just a winning record last year. The legs and occasional arm of Vince Young added a whole new dimension to the Titans, pulling them out of the cellar. And there's the ever reliable and slinging Peyton Manning. Five legs and two arms that make up the fates of the entire AFC South.

NFL Preview: Day Two- AFC North
A traditionally tough division enters 2010 with four big question marks for four different teams. Will the Steelers be able to overcome the four to six game absence of starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger? How much time will new Browns QB Colt McCoy see playing in his rookie season? Will Anquan Boldin be the missing piece that makes Joe Flacco the top tier QB he was though to be coming off of his rookie season? Will Carson Palmer be able to sustain the same level of play throughout the season and keep the two big egos in check? The 2010 AFC North is a division of questions looking for answers...

NFL Preview: Day One- AFC East
A division that has long been owned by one team, the Patriots, has been in upheaval the past few years. From a surprise run to the top in 2008 by the Miami Dolphins to last year's upstart New York Jets who had a surprise 2009 with a 9-7 record behind rookie Quarterback Mark Sanchez. Will the Dolphins acquisition of Brandon Marshall make the Miami offense explosive enough to keep up with the Jets and Pats? Could the injuries and aging from the Patriots could mean a third AFC East Champion in three years or will Brady show that last year was just a recovery year from his knee surgery? Oh, and the Buffalo Bills...

NFL Preview Coming Soon
Starting next week I will be doing my NFL season preview. I will start with the AFC East on Monday.
I'll then continue with the AFC throughout the week.
The following week I will do the NFC and do the same, breaking down each division on a team by team basis, predicting their record, and so forth.
Are you ready for some football?

Pre-Season Football: Like Looking in the Girls Locker Room
If you were a red-blooded male in high school, at one point there wasn't much on your mind: sports, women, sports, women, food.
Your time was tempered by wondering what the girl of your choice would look like in the suit that nature had made for her.
Also, if you were like most red-blooded males, you knew you had zero chance of ever finding out.
However, there was one way. One hope. One wish. One dream.
The girls' locker room.

It's Official: Brett is Back
As I told you yesterday, Brett Favre is returning to the Minnesota Vikings for his 20th, and likely final, NFL season.
You may think you are tired, annoyed, and sick of his act, his aw shucks attitude, his aloof ways, and his diva mentality but enjoy this season. For as annoyed as you may be, Brett Favre is one of the best, if not arguably the best, quarterback in the history of the NFL.
When he hangs the spikes up for good, he will be the last vestige of the last great quarterback era of the NFL. He is tied to Marino, Montana, Kelly, Aikman, Elway, and Young. His peers are in the Hall of Fame. In six years, so will he. Enjoy the ride, folks.
Watch and, even if he plays poorly, remember the pure enjoyment and passion that he has always had for the game. He being a big kid can be annoying but its also endearing. A part of us wishes we could play a game like he can and he knows it's just a game and loves every second. Enjoy the big, 40 year old kid. He is a blast to watch, in spite of how annoying he can be. Just like a kid.

Brett Favre- Back Again?
The waffling, the flip flopping, the mind games. Everyone says it's annoying. They're tired of the coverage. They're sick of him.
I will tell you right now what I've been saying since the end of the NFC Championship Game: Brett Favre is coming back.

MLB Draft Signing Deadline UPDATE
The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed #2 overall pick Jameson Taillon to an undisclosed deal. He was regarded as the #1 pitcher in the country and should become their ace if all should go well.
A further scouting report is found via MLB.com.
Taillon sports a fastball topping 99 mph, a curve in the low 80s, an 87 mph Slider, and a change up that drops to 76 mph. He stands 6'7" and weighs in at a developed 230 lbs. At only 18 years old, his athleticism also stands out as another bonus to the package that comes with.
The Washington Nationals are still awaiting the signing of 17 year old phenom Bryce Harper.

MLB Draft Signing Deadline
Tonight at midnight is the MLB Amateur Draft signing deadline. All the players taken in the June draft have until 12am tonight to sign with their team before re-entering into the draft.
As I said in a prior post, the big questions with Stetson Allie and Jameson Taillon (the second and first round picks of the Pirates respectively) was not whether they would develop but whether they would sign.

Score One for Technology
Thanks to the Android market and my HTC Evo 4G from Sprint...
...I can now create new posts from my phone. This means more spur of the moment, immediate reactions from myself for you, the reader.
I can't upload or include the various layer of multimedia that I would otherwise while on my phone so while I may publish a blog right away, when I get to a computer there will be some media attached to it and some additional thoughts/feelings as well as some fact checking and information that I was able to garner while at my laptop/CPU.
Make sure to keep reading "Case and Point" as I continue to try to make this as interactive as possible while keeping the quality up.

Dustin Johnson Screwed
I don't care what the PGA says, that was no longer a bunker. And why was there no official to inform him that he was in a bunker?

Happy Birthday Sidney Crosby
Sid is 23 today.
What the hell do you get for the guy who has everything?
The answer: a meaningless blog posting. Or maybe facial hair.

This Has Been Me Lately...
Some things have gone down. Still working out the kinks. May be some big changes, may be some minor ones. Either way, I'll be getting back to the grind soon enough. Within a week I'll know more.
Keep on the look out, folks.
In the mean time, hang tight. All will be well. I promise.
P.S.- Brett Favre is coming back. Book it.
