With the 2011 Major League Baseball Opening Day literally days away, I thought I'd take a moment to let everyone have a look within my psyche to let them know exactly what it is that opening day of baseball season has historically meant for me.

Thrashers in Atlanta Not the Problem in Atlanta
The Atlanta Thrashers are commonly cited as one of them teams that are NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman's biggest mistake. The poor attendance and seeming lack of interest in the game from the city, one of the biggest cities in the United States, are always brought up when people are listing the faults of Bettman's reign. It's easy to throw out the lack of interest in the NHL as the reason for low attendance but how accurate is this?

For NHL, Concussion Problem Lies in the Head
It wasn't long ago the sports world was mocking the NFL for taking head shots out of the game as best they can, doing their best to penalize every one whether intentional or not. While the NFL may have had some issues in the feeling out process of the idea it's shown that the NFL really does care about their players safety. Same cannot be said of the NHL.

The Disappointing Act of Jordan Staal
It was his turn to step up with Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin out with various injuries. It was his ship to take hold and guide. He had the forum he wanted at the start of the season when he asked to have a larger role on the team. It was time for Jordan Staal to step up and show his game is emerging.

10 Rules of Wiffle
As a kid chances are you played Wiffle Ball. The plastic ball that moved with the wind and the yellow plastic bat provided many an hours worth of entertainment to kids who couldn't play baseball due to yard and housing restrictions. We all loved it and best of all it didn't hurt when you got hit by the ball.
My good friends over at Big League Wiffle Ball asked me to out together a list of rules for wiffle ball to be published on their site. While you can read the article here, I decided to share the list with all of you as well. So here are the 10 Rules of Wiffle. And by all means, visit our friends at Big League Wiffle Ball and check for our interview with them next podcast!
