NHL Playoffs Semi Finals Predictions- East Edition

After managing an impressive (if I do say so myself) seven of eight correct predictions in the quarters (thanks by the way, Buffalo) the first round is done and we're on to the second round of the 2011 NHL Playoffs.  As is tradition (starting now) it's time for predictions.  Tomorrow, the West.  Today, the East.

More Events Need Draft Treatment

The NFL Draft is something unique and interesting.  Though all major sports do a draft, none have the pomp and circumstance of the NFL Draft.  It captures the attention, seeing these young men we watched play in college graduate to the next level, become men amongst men.  In their nice suits and clean cuts, they are no longer the warrior they were on Saturdays.  They are the clean cut career men subject to the whims of fans on Sundays.

The Caution of Cam

The 2011 NFL Draft is upon us and the hype machine is back in full effect.  As usual the glamor position is getting the attention.  Last year it was Sam Bradford, the year before that it was Matthew Stafford.  The list goes on and on of the draft day delights that await to ride behind center.  This year is no different.  When Andrew Luck decided to stay behind in Stanford the attention shifted... to Cam Newton.

NBA Playoffs Preview- Western Conference

While Case and Point is an NHL heavy blog, we try to keep our minds open to all things going on in the sports world.  As such, we realized that there were other playoffs happening and we had to cover them somehow.  That's right, the NBA Playoffs.  The NHL Playoff Preview was such a success that we decided to do it again, enlisting the help of some friendly bloggers to cover their respective NBA teams.  We recently did the East and now as well as gave our predictions for the East's first round.  Tomorrow, our first round predictions for the West but without wasting any more time, I present to you the 2011 NBA Western Conference Playoff Preview.

Family Circle Cup Media Blast

The folks at the Family Circle Cup in Daniel Island, SC were nice enough to grant us complete access to an event happening in our own back yard.  For a week the top players in woman's tennis competed for a large pay check and a new title to make their own.  We at Case and Point were lucky enough to be there for the big events and here is the visual proof.

Sports Greatest Cheaters

With the retirement of Manny Ramirez, and the reasoning behind it, the spotlight shifts from his potential Hall of Fame candidacy to what exactly his legacy will be as a cheater who was caught twice by mandatory drug testing.  This begs a different question, though.  Where does Manny rest in the pantheon of the greatest cheats in the big four sports?
